The Next Generation of Subaru EVs Was Just Announced (And Yes, They Keep the Standard AWD)

If you tuned into the auto show announcements on April 1st, you already know the news. If you didn’t, let us catch you up, because Subaru just dropped a massive update on their electric vehicle lineup.

For a while, the Solterra was our only fully electric option. It’s a fantastic vehicle, but we knew drivers around here were looking for more variety—specifically, more range, more towing power, and options with a third row.

Subaru listened. They just unveiled an entire family of new EVs, and they are headed to Subaru of Bend soon.

Here is the breakdown of the new electric lineup:

  • The All-New 2027 Subaru Getaway: This was the major April 1st reveal. It’s a full 3-row, 7-passenger electric SUV. If you have a larger family and need to haul a lot of gear across the High Desert, this is the one. It pushes out an incredible 420 horsepower (making it the most powerful production Subaru ever built) and offers over 300 miles of range. It brings the ground clearance and standard Symmetrical AWD you expect from us, just without the gas stops.

  • The 2026 Subaru Trailseeker: Think of this as the electric counterpart to the Outback. It’s a highly capable midsize SUV sitting right in that sweet spot for daily driving and dirt-road utility.

  • The 2026 Subaru Uncharted: If you want maximum range in a smaller footprint, the Uncharted is the new compact crossover option. It’s built for efficiency, making it a great choice for those longer highway commutes across Central Oregon.

  • The Refreshed 2026 Solterra: Our original EV also got a serious update for the 2026 model year, bringing even more value and capability to the table.

The Game-Changer: Easier Charging We know range anxiety is a real concern when you live out here. The biggest update for these new models is that they are adopting the NACS charging standard. That means you will have direct access to the massive network of Tesla Superchargers spread across the region. It makes road-tripping an electric Subaru easier than it has ever been.

When Can You Get One? The 2026 Uncharted, Trailseeker, and updated Solterra models will be arriving at the dealership very soon. The 3-row Getaway is slated to land a little later, but the interest we are seeing is already huge.
