Bold Design

It all starts with exterior design. The first thing you notice about the Forester, after all, is the exterior. The 2018 Forester doesn't disappoint in that front. From a trapezoidal front grille sporting an updated take on the classic Subaru wing design to a rear that features standard LED taillights, every inch of this Subaru is stylish. The Forester's design is appropriately clean, yet also handsomely rugged.

Moving inside, the Forester is just as functional and fashionable. Subaru knows that many people like this compact crossover for the capacious cargo area and the versatility it affords. As such, the Forester features a very spacious rear with an easy 60/40 split flat-folding rear seat with available remote fold-down levers and cargo tray. Up front, an available SUBARU STARLINK™ 7-inch multimedia/navigation system and Lineartronic™ CVT make driving a little more pleasurable.

Forester Trim Models

2018 Forester lessees and buyers can now choose from six compelling trim models, listed chronologically from the base model to the most exclusive model, as follows:

  • Forester 2.5i
  • Forester 2.5i Premium
  • Forester 2.5i Limited
  • Forester 2.5i Touring
  • Forester 2.0XT Premium
  • Forester 2.0XT Touring

All Subaru Forester models are well-equipped. Even the entry-level 2.5i trim comes standard with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, SUBARU STARLINK™ Multimedia, 8.7 inches of ground clearance, and Bluetooth® smartphone compatibility with USB and iPod® control capability.

The 2.5i trim adds the option of equipping your Forester with EyeSight® Driver assist technology. 2.5i Premium models all come with 17-inch alloys, a power-tilt/sliding panoramic moonroof, and automatic climate control system.

The next-level-up 2.5i Limited gets leather-trimmed upholstery, an all-weather package with heated front seats, blind-spot detection with rear cross-traffic alert, a standard power rear liftgate, fog lights, and more.

If you're looking for even more convenience features, the 2.5i Touring has them - from 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels to dual-zone automatic climate control to LED steering responsive headlights.

Forester buyers seeking something a little racier will appreciate the Forester 2.0XT Premium and 2.0XT Touring trims, which both come standard with turbocharged 250-horsepower SUBARU BOXER® engines. While the 2.0XT Premium receives 18-inch alloy wheels, a sport design front fascia, and All Weather Package, among other things, the 2.0XT Touring kicks it up a knotch further. This top-of-line Forester model features  just about everything you could hope for in a new compact crossover, from leather-trimmed upholstery to a heated steering wheel, to a power driver's seat with memory.

The 2018 Forester 2.5i Premium Black Edition

If you're looking to add a flair of mystique to your commute, consider a 2018 Subaru Forester 2.5i equipped with the all-new Black Edition package. This package decks out the Forester with 18 x 7.0-inch alloy wheels in black finish, black exterior accents (such as black rear badging, black painted side view mirrors, and a sport grille), and an upgraded interior with leather-wrapped steering wheel and seats that have faux-leather bolsters and cloth inserts. For an edgier, sportier appeal, choose the Forester 2.5i equipped with the Black Edition.

Uncompromising Safety

Standard on the 2.5i Limited, 2.5i Touring, and 2.0XT Touring and available on the 2.5i Premium, blind spot detection and rear cross-traffic alert use radar sensors to alert you if a vehicle is approaching your blind spots, or if traffic approaching from the side as you are backing up, respectively. A rear-vision camera is standard across all Forester models, with reverse automatic braking also available on the 2.5i Touring and 2.0XT Touring models. Vehicle Dynamics Control, or VDC for short, automatically keeps tabs on your steering and braking to determine your intended path and help you stay on it; what's more, it is standard across all Forester models. But our favorite safety technology is Subaru EyeSight® array of driver assist technology.

Subaru EyeSight®

Available Subaru Eyesight® helps Subaru cars climb to the highest echelons of IIHS safety ratings. Plus, it makes driving a Subaru vehicle more intuitive and safe than perhaps ever before. From EyeSight® adaptive cruise control to EyeSight® pre-collision braking and throttle management to EyeSight® lane keep assist with sway warning, this innovative, modern array of safety features helps you stay safe in worst-case scenarios, giving you increased peace-of-mind.
